What is the central idea of your concentration?
The central idea to my concentration is to take the simplicity of certain subjects and make them more sophisticated. Shadows create a more interesting look to a photograph. It gives the viewer a chance to look at the photos in a different way. The way the light falls upon the objects in the picture create intriguing shadows. Looking at a subject directly doesn't necessarily mean that the shadow is going to match the subject exactly. The shadow may be a distorted version of the subject as the light hits the object.
How does the work in your concentration demonstrate the exploration of your idea? You may refer to specific images as examples.
The work in my concentration demonstrates the exploration of my idea due to the light falling upon the objects within the pictures. The way the light falls upon the subjects create an interesting shadow. In the last image the subject is just a normal set of stairs. The shadows make it look like there's actually a staircase built into the brick wall. Depending on what time of day you take photos of things, the shadows are going to be seen and treated differently. If I were to take the same photo and take it later in the evening then the shadow staircase is going to be stretched into a longer and drawn out staircase. All of these photos are taken about the same time. In the fourth photograph the light sconce's shadow is completely distorted and creates a perfect shadow on the canvas of the wall.
